Viktor Gjika is one of those types that are no difficult to recognize and to define. He is open, direct, present and active wherever his artistic or social mission calls him, both impulsive and rational, persevering in creation and polemical in debate, a kind of combination of gentleness and austerity, an untiring runner of long distances of art…He has everything within the category of artists, who rejecting retirement and keeping in shade, naturally forge into first rows of artistic life of the country. This is the imposition deriving from values of the creation and intensity of the activity. As school-fellows in the former French Licée of Korça, in my memory Viktor Gjika belonged to those who were “found everywhere”. With a sonorous voice fitting in songs of anthem type, he was found among three or four soloists of the school on theater stages, in the literary club, in podiums for greetings and declamations, in activities of pioneer houses or youth events, in cinema halls of the town – all this would be enough to place him in the center of attention, to ask his friendship and be favorite of girls…
